Rules and Ordinances Committee

The Rules and Ordinances Committee addresses legislation referred to it by Council regarding ministerial updates to the Lakewood Codified Ordinances. In 2018, the Rules and Ordinances Committee deliberated on a large body of legislation intended to align the Codified Ordinances with the newly adopted Third Amended Charter. In 2022, the Committee helped to establish a Shoreline Improvement District to assist homeowners with financing erosion control projects.

The Rules and Ordinances Committee meets as-needed on Monday evenings in the City Hall Auditorium and is usually joined by the City’s Law Director.
