The Wastewater Treatment Plant is responsible for treating all waste streams conveyed to it and disposal of all subsequent stabilized byproducts. Through the use of state-of-the art processes and trained personnel, the facility is capable of not only meeting but also exceeding the discharge parameters mandated by its National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Systems (NPDES) permit. This insures that Lakewood helps preserve one of our nation’s greatest natural resources, Lake Erie.
The Lakewood Waste Water Treatment Plant offers educational tours to schools, groups and individuals. For more information please call (216) 529-5690 weekdays from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM.
